Three Shades, One Spotlight: Inside the Adeja Creations Lip Gloss Shoot

Three open lip glosses, three shades, one spotlight. And somehow that was all it took to stop me mid-edit and think, yeah, this one is exactly right.
When Adeja Creations brought me in to shoot their lip gloss collection, the brief was clear: make it feel luxurious without making it feel untouchable. That tension is actually one of my favorite things to work with in product photography. There is a version of beauty content that puts products on a pedestal so high that nobody actually wants to reach for them. That was not what this called for. The open applicators resting across the containers, the three shades fanned out in a loose triangle, pink and clear and a deep rich brown. It was meant to feel like something you discovered on a vanity, not something locked behind glass.
The edit did a lot of heavy lifting here, and I want to talk about that because I think the post-processing decisions in a product shoot are just as intentional as the lighting setup. I pulled the base tones into a cool mint-white, almost clinical but not cold. Then I brought in a dramatic spotlight vignette that compresses the shadows at the edges and forces your eye straight to the center. The result is this feeling that the products are being revealed to you, like someone just swept a curtain aside. The shadows under each bottle are crisp and directional, which gives the whole frame a sense of weight and presence. These are not floating on a white background. They are grounded, real, and confident.
What made this shoot work was the brand itself giving me room to be specific. The square clear bottles, the black caps, that red logo on every piece. There was already a visual language in place and my job was to amplify it, not reinvent it. I arranged the trio so each one had its own moment while still reading as a family. The open wands were the detail that tied it together. A closed product tells you what it is. An open one invites you in. That is the difference between a catalog shot and a campaign image, and Adeja Creations deserved the latter.
I keep coming back to how this image feels when I look at it now. There is a quiet confidence to it. Not loud. Not overproduced. Just three beautiful products in a spotlight, doing exactly what they were made to do. Beauty content does not have to shout to get attention. Sometimes the right composition, the right light, and a little trust in the work is enough to make someone stop scrolling and actually look.
